End of 2025 Life Update

There’s so much that has been happening in my life. I’ve started growing my business and had a baby. Where to start first?

The Pregnancy

We were surprised with a pregnancy early 2025. We’d been trying for a while, and honestly, it turns out we were doing it wrong the whole time. I probably shouldn’t get into details with this. I found out right after a meeting at work. I was in shock, joy, and completely out of words. My wife didn’t believe it at first and took a test each morning for three days straight to make sure it was real.

The Name

We had been planning to name our daughter Liliana, but we realized Eliana was more God-centered. Eliana means “God has answered,” and we truly believe He did. Her middle name is Grace. A baby is a miracle in anyone’s life, and this is our first.

Preparation

Since finding out, we had so much fun preparing. We bought a crib, stroller, and a Snoo; which turned out to be such a blessing because it helped Eliana sleep through those first three months. Her first outfit was from Ralph Lauren, something we picked out together with so much excitement. We transformed my office into a baby room, and I moved my workstation to the living room. That’s where I work now.

The Delivery

The delivery day was such an experience, mostly because it was all new to us. We were at the hospital for about three days. They gave us the best room in the nursery: newly built, with a nice view, a bathroom, a fridge, and plenty of space. The best part? We didn’t have to share. Time felt different during those days. It felt like months had gone by within three days.

The First Month

The first month after bringing Eliana home was tough, mostly from sleep deprivation. But we had help from my in-laws, and I learned pretty quickly. They say you fall in love all over again when you have a baby. I think it’s true. Watching her, holding her, caring for her—I fell in love in a way I never expected.

My Business

During the last half of my three months of paternity leave, I’ve been building my business while taking care of Eliana. I run a website design and digital marketing agency that I started about a year ago, before we even knew about the pregnancy. Now I’m nearing the end of my leave and getting ready to return to my day job as a frontend lead at Morgan Stanley. I’m actually excited to go back; to see what’s changed and catch up with my coworkers.

The business has been challenging. Client acquisition is the hardest part, but it’s helped me rely on God. The clients I have now came to me without me even seeking them out, they were just what I needed at the time. It gave me the insight that each day, God provides. I feel like God is always with me, but sometimes it’s me who forgets Him.

I’ve also been pushing myself out of my comfort zone; making videos for the business. I’m not a natural on camera, and I know the first few videos are terrible. But if I’m going to make videos for the business anyway, I thought, why not make videos for God too? So I started a simple series: reading through the book of Genesis, one chapter per video, with light commentary at the end. Nothing fancy, just me and Scripture. It’s been humbling, but it feels right. I’ve also created a whole brand for this, with a website and social media; It’s called Bible with Jack.

Still, there are moments when I wonder if it’s all worth it. Is it worth spending so much time and money? Should I just quit like some of my friends suggest and stick to the 9-5? I don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel yet. Success for me would look like landing one client each month, something sustainable. But I keep going because I don’t like to give up on things, and I believe God has a plan in this too.

Now

These days, my routine looks different. I wake up at 5 AM, feed Eliana, put her back to sleep, and work on my business. By the third month, she started sleeping more, which gave me more time to focus. My wife handles breastfeeding and the night feedings while I juggle both the business and preparing to return to work.

It’s a lot. But when I look at Eliana, our answered prayer, I’m reminded that God’s faithfulness is bigger than my doubts.
