Something that I have been thinking about lately, what does it mean to surrender?
Matthew 14:22-33
I am still learning how to surrender all to God. I doubt most of the time, even without knowing. I find myself surrendering but it’s more like 55% rather than 85%, 95%, or even 100%. Of course, we aim and strive for 100%. We still have doubts naturally because we are human. It is hard to surrender all to him, but I know that as long as I come to him each time and humble myself before Him He will continue to guide me in my daily life.
Proverbs 3:5-8, Matthew 21:21
I feel like sometimes I am like Peter when the Lord calls me (when I feel like I am “doing well” getting closer to Him.) I trust Him and walk towards Him and in His ways. When Peter saw the wind, he was afraid. Like him, when I look and hear others around me, I lose focus on Him. I get scared and start to sink, lose faith, and doubt. Peter cried out to the Lord for help to save him. I cry out to Him even though I knew I was walking to the one whose authority is over all things.
Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?
Matthew 14:31
The little blessings in life that he shows me time and time again is when Jesus immediately reaches His hand and got hold of Peter. I know that time after time, He teaches me this lesson in my walk in life, and with him. he will be there with us every step of the way if we let Him. We know this for sure because we are His beloved ones. He is faithful to the end.
But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubt is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.
James 1:6
