We find peace when we know who we are in the One who created us from the beginning.
I often think and remind myself when I adventure out and have a beautiful view in front of me about how beautiful God’s creation is. We often forget to take a step back and to enjoy the beautiful things that we see around us. I think going out on walks and going to places to see nature bring me so much joy and peace. Usually, when I have a beautiful view in front of me, I look out and take deep breaths taking in and enjoying the moment. Sometimes my mind goes blank. Other times I still have thoughts that come into my head but peaceful ones.
My thoughts usually go deep and many different questions start to pop up one by one, one after another. Sometimes I share these thoughts with others sometimes I keep them to myself. When I do choose to tell others, I go to only a handful of people that I trust in my life. These people I am most comfortable with to share what I’m feeling or thinking about without fear of judgment and comparison. In order to share these types of thoughts, one has to be willing to be vulnerable. I am blessed that I have those people in my life where I can have deep conversions with. That feeling you get after spilling out everything feels safe and is priceless. In some ways, I feel like that is the kind of relationship God wants us to have with Him. The creator that created us as individuals, different from all but similar in ways, He should be our safe place, our safe relationship.
Psalm 139:7-15
God is the creator, He knows all and has seen and made all things. I was reminded that even though I can hide things from others and sometimes I feel like I can hide things from God, He knows and searches deep in the heart. It is both a scary and comforting thought. Scary because we cannot hide things from Him. Comforting because we do not have to hide things from Him because He already knows. So we are actually never really alone even though we think or feel like we are. He is waiting for us (individually) to come to Him by ourselves, our willingness to bring all our burdens to Him. To humbly put ourselves before Him and to fully letting go all that troubles us and that burdens us. Jesus is already there with us to hold our burdens together. God knew that we as humans are not capable to do it ourselves. We have the free will to choose to go on about our own way or to willingly go to Him knowing that without Him we can’t do it. Let us continue to make it apart of our daily schedule to spend time with our amazing Creator.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night,” 12 even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with you.
Psalm 139:11-12
14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
Psalm 139:14
